Responsibilities: |
The purpose of the position is to lead the category management and shopper insights function at the company. This individual plays a critical role in determining long-term capabilities for the organization as well as defining and differentiating the company relative to their competitive set.
Responsibilities:
- Develop deep understanding of shopper behavior to maximize shopper preferences during the path to purchase.
- Develop compelling long-term category vision and strategy for the entire company portfolio to be translated to and executed by the field sales force.
- Own and develop category management capability toolbox.
- Increase the companys influence and partnerships at leading retailers.
- Drive field implementation of insights and capabilities to accelerate business performance.
- Offer strategic insight and leadership to Marketing and Sales Leadership teams.
- Development of Category Management Team.
- Continually evaluate organizational structure and processes to ensure best in class category management function.
- Increase category influence at leading retailers.
- Enable the organization to develop Shopper-Centric category sales plans.
- Maximize effectiveness of $2.6M category management and shopper insight budget.
- Lead 4 corporate direct reports and 20 indirect field reports.
- Optimize vendor relationships and resources.
- Maintain category value proposition and segment-level category strategies.

Qualifications -
- Four Year college degree (MBA preferred).
- 6-8+ years Category Management Experience (10 yrs CPG industry experience)
- 2 yrs people/staff management experience.
- Direct customer responsibility and experience
- Prefer previous HQ-based experience (sales planning, trade marketing, etc).
- Displays strategic perspective.
- Expertise in multiple sales decision tools: IRI, Nielsen, Apollo, Spectra.
- Excellent PC skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
- Ability to travel 25-30% of time
